A New Year, A New Idea

As you can see, I'm jumping on the blog bandwagon! I figure we have too many family and friends we left in California and other states on the West Coast that might like to read and keep up to date on what we are doing with our new life.

I will start with the biggest questions I get asked when one finds out we moved..."when and why?" Josh and I made a mutual decision to move to TN in about March of 2009. We had been through some life-changing trials in our life and wanted to "start over" in a way. My parents had retired to Crossville, TN in November of 2005, and we had been here to visit. It is a very small, retirement town in between Nashville and Knoxville in Eastern TN. Very very different from what we knew all our lives...perfect! :) We knew that with the economy the way it was headed and the desire to one day own a home and live in a place where they helped teach and encourage morals in our child/ren, we wanted to live somewhere different. Not wanting to live where neither of us had any family, we headed across country almost 3,000 miles to Crossville that July.

Our life was really in God's hands at that point. Josh had no job, and we had no house. We lived with my parents in their small 3 bedroom country home for 3 months while Josh searched for a job. Finally, in October he got his current job cleaning carpets at a well known vacation resort just outside of town. We soon moved into our town home which was such a blessing! (We love you mom, dad, Keri and Lisa for putting up with our crazy little family for so long)

Aiva, 5 years old now - but almost 4 at the time, got started in pre-school, which she loved, and not too long after that I got my first job in 5 years. I have the best job working with the best God-loving ladies at a credit union.

On June 12, 2010, Josh and I found out we are expecting our next baby! :) It will be another girl, Rylee Kay Stuck. She is due to arrive into this world March 21. That makes me 31 weeks pregnant at this point.

Aiva is so excited to be a big sister! She loves this baby already, and she hasn't even met her yet. It is so sweet to watch her love on me (and Rylee) during this part of the pregnancy journey.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention! God is blessing us with being able to not only buy our first home, but to actually build it! We should be starting by the first of next month and it should hopefully be completed sometime during the summer. We are all happy to make that next step in life of home ownership and be able to have a little more room to stretch out.

God is good. Thank you for your time and interest, and I promise my other blogs will not be as long! :) (Well, let's not say promise ;)
